Memorandum
Greetings to all NJ-1 DMAT members. This is our first newsletter in quite some time. We will be using this forum as an informal educational supplement as well as a means of keeping you updated on events that are pertinent to the team. Your comments and questions are welcome, provided we maintain a decent level of common sense and decorum.

Event Calender
Commander- Dave Wolfe

It's been a few years since we last published a team newsletter, and with the help
of George Currie, we have put this project on track. I would like to thank George
all of the hard work and time he has devoted to getting our newsletter published
again. Considering everything that NJ-1 has been involved in recently, the timing
     is perfect.
We remain one of the most active and deployed teams in the NDMS system.
Starting with this past hurricane season, NJ-1 deployed almost 30 people into the
field, many of them for the first time! All of our hard work, preparing and
completing training requirements finally paid off for many people. NJ-1 members
were deployed throughout 3 states, over the course of 3 major hurricanes. In
January we recieved 3 new trucks and then deployed 35 members to the
Inauguration. As an added bonus, we turned in all of our old equipment for a brand
new cache. This month we were able to send 16 people back to the U.S. Capitol
for the Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony, where not only did we perform
medical care, but we were given the opportunity to mentor a newly formed DMAT team.
However, staying at this level takes hard work and commitment. The Training Section is planning some
exciting events this year and our expectations for participation are high. Please help us remain one of the best
teams in the USA.
Our goal is to make the newsletter a great place to learn about team events and training, as well as keeping
everyone up to date on current issues. If you have any suggestions please contact either myself or George
Currie.

Dave Wolfe,
Commander, NJ-1 DMAT

AccuWeather.com is a new feature to the newsletter. Hurricane season is upon us and if this season proves to be anything like last year, we will be busy. If you click on the July tab, you will find this season's line up and graphic overview.
