June 3rd,4th,5th , NJ-1 DMAT will be attending the McGuire AFB Airshow 2005.
I believe it will turnout to be a huge success as well as an excellent opportunity for the team. A few things you may want to keep in mind. This will be the first airshow at McGuire AFB since 9-11-01. Security will be tight. The U.S. NAVY BLUE ANGELS flight demonstration team will be flying the F-18's. Security will be tight. We are guest at McGuire AFB. Wearing the uniform in the military is serious business. If NJ-1 DMAT looks squared away and professional, we will be accepted as squared away and professional. Please take the time to iron your uniform, clip any loose threads. If you are wearing the blouse (khaki uniform shirt) button the pockets and the front. If you are wearing the sleeves rolled, find out how roll to your sleeves the correct way. Shine your boots and lace them. Blouse your pant legs neatly. Ask a team mate if you're not sure.Your cover (hat) should be approved and worn properly. I.D. cards, stethoscopes, pen, pencils, and other assorted items should be stowed in pockets.(this is not just for neatness, it becomes a safety issue at an airshow. You may want ot consider, sunscreen, sunglasses (the tarmack will reflect more sun in your face then you can imagine.) Hydrate youself with water or a sports drink. Utilize the buddy system, don't travel alone. Let someone know of your wearabouts. If an area is restricted, don't go in there. If you do not know the USAF rank insignia, I have listed it for you.
